just a breif post today.
This morning started out just like any other - with the horses. Morning stables were ok and the first excersise was quiet and easy. nobody kicked, bitten, dumped or dragged. An Early appointment with the Doctor saw my blood pressure down "just a little - but we'll keep this dosage of tablets. Four Weeks please."
It's alright him saying four weeks - but they never have 4 weeks on the computerised appointments system!
After that it was off to the airport where I met up with the Orchestra and Chorus members and the stage crew, often referred to as "The Suicide Squad" - first on stage and the last off! they're a great bunch of chaps and we would be lost without them.
After meeting with the KLM chaps and Customs/Immigration formalities we're off. Luggage and instruments in the cargo hold, bodies onboard and down the runway. My local international airport is quaint. It has a cattle grid on one end of the runway... and the runway slopes!
it's only an hour direct and soon the hotel welcomes us with all the instruments and luggage.
The afternoon is spent playing at the christmas market with a small group of wind players and singers from the chorus..... and it's cold! Gluwein, sausages and schnapps is regulaly consumed and we're all a bit merry at the end
Evening christmas Concert for all. The stage crew have done us prowd and all the music stands are festooned with tinsel. A full house gives us a standing ovation for our Christmas music which included:
Sleigh Ride, Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer, Troika, Christmas Carols and many more.
The rest of this evening is spent in the hotel bar...... and now I'm off to bed!
